| Job Description | LAY OUT, FABRICATE, INSTALL, MAINTAIN, AND REPAIR PIPING SYSTEMS ON SHIPS, VESSELS AND OTHER WORK IN A SHIPYARD FACILITY OR RELATED TO SHIPYARD OPERATIONS. FOLLOW BLUEPRINTS, TEMPLATES & ORAL INSTRUCTIONS TO PLAN LAYOUT OF PIPING FOR FUEL DELIVERY, HYDRAULIC, PNEUMATIC, COOLING, HEATING, WATER, FIRE SYSTEMS AND OIL LINES. MEASURE AND CUT PIPE TO SPECIFIED LENGTH. CUT ACCESS HOLES IN BULKHEADS, WALLS, STRUCTURAL MEMBERS AND DECKS FOR INSTALLATION. BEND PIPE OR TUBING USING PIPE BENDER. BOLT OR TACK WELD HANGER BRACKETS TO SUPPORT SYSTEM. CONNECT PIPE TO FIXTURES USING SCREW TYPE FITTINGS, SOLDERING, TACK WELDING OR BY BOLTING FLANGES USING HAND WRENCHES OR POWER TOOLS. ALIGN PARTS USING HAND OR POWER TOOLS. |
